Our Mission
MCMA advocates for a vibrant carbon market ecosystem in Malaysia. This includes accelerating demand, catalyzing supply, and facilitating the development of high-quality carbon projects that utilize both technology and nature-based solutions.
We contribute to the formulation of natioanal policies. The goal is to ensure that compliance and coluntary cabon markets can effectively and equitably contribute towards Malaysia's Net Zero goal by 2050.
The Association also contributes toward talent development to achieve the highest level of professionalism, knowledge, and competency in carbon markets.
MCMA collaborates with international and domestic carbon partners in both the public and private sectors. The aim is to foster a greater and interoperable carbon markets to enhance carbon price efficiency and channel funding support towards carbon projects in developing and emerging economies.

The Malaysia Carbon Market Association (MCMA) is a non-profit organization that promotes the growth of Malaysia’s carbon market. Its mission includes fostering a voluntary carbon market, supporting high-quality carbon projects, and contributing to the nation’s Net Zero goal by 2050. Governed by an elected committee, MCMA ensures ethical practices and collaborates with stakeholders to build public confidence. Membership includes Ordinary Members with voting rights and Honorary Members as observers. With a focus on innovation and sustainability, MCMA strives to make carbon markets accessible while driving Malaysia’s climate goals.
